“The Ghost of Obersalzberg”: The Last Secret of Baron von Edelstein

This rare photograph, which miraculously survived from the autumn of 1947, captures a moment that could have changed the history of aviation forever. The image was taken at a deserted factory in Thuringia, which for a short time fell under the control of the mysterious “Gehlen Organization.”
In the center of the frame is the creator himself, Baron Dietrich von Edelstein. He was a brilliant engineer and visionary who led a secret department of the Ministry of Armaments, known only as “Special Group E.”
Resting behind him is his greatest achievement — the V-7 “Schwarze Sonne” (Black Sun). This is not just a mock-up. Only minutes before the camera flash went off, this 18-meter-wide disc, powered by a revolutionary vortex engine designed by Viktor Schauberger, silently lifted off its wooden supports. It hovered several meters above the ground, emitting a faint blue glow.
Less than a month after this photo was taken, Baron von Edelstein disappeared. His discs and all related documentation were destroyed.
